Samantha
Miller has recently joined the Aquaculture Industry Development and Policy
Unit of Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries, and is the new
sector representative for finfish aquaculture, as well as its Environmental
specialist. She has a background in environmental assessment after working
in the Marine Habitat Unit of Fisheries for around 8 years. Sam is currently
working on a policy to establish an Ecologically Sustainable Development
Framework for Queensland aquaculture.

Amendments to fisheries legislation associated with the Integrated
Development Assessment System (IDAS), will have important, positive
implications for the assessment of aquaculture.
