Bruce is the president (14 years) of the Aquaculture Association of Queensland Inc., (AAQ). Bruce also served as Vice President of the Queensland Aquaculture Industries Federation Inc.(QAIF) for many years. He is now a director of QAIF. Bruce has also served on a number of Government bodies as an industry consultant, including the Department of State Development and Innovation's Aquaculture Reference Group, the Queensland Freshwater Management Advisory Committee, the Translocation Sub-Committee, and the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme Sub-Committee.
Somewhere between all of this he also manages Ausyfish Pty Ltd, one of Australia's largest freshwater fish hatcheries. This includes plenty of physical hands on activity around the farm.
