Bruce Sambell - President AAQ

Bruce is the president (9 years) of the Aquaculture Association of Queensland Inc., (AAQ). Bruce is also Vice President of the Queensland Aquaculture Industries Federation Inc. Bruce also sits on a number of Government bodies as an industry consultant, including the Department of State Development and Innovation's Aquaculture Reference Group,  the Queensland Freshwater Management Advisory Committee, the Translocation Sub-Committee, and the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme Sub-Committee.

Somewhere between all of this he also manages his own fish farm business, Ausyfish P/L. This includes plenty on physical hands on activity around the farm. Filling in his "spare" time... he looks after a number of web sites, including the AAQ Web Site, www.aaq.com  and the Queensland Aquaculture Industries Federation's site www.aquaculturequeensland.com  and the web site for his own business, www.ausyfish.com

Bruce plays an active roll representing the members of the AAQ including development of a number of codes of practice. Members should be aware of the new services offered free on the AAQ Web Site. A number of useful management tools are available for download to AAQ members. These include a full set of documents that can be used for the induction of new employees, including workplace health and safety documents. These were developed in partnership with FarmSafe Queensland. Other documents include the farm management plan developed with Queensland National Parks, which will help members when applying for a 3 year damage mitigation plan.

These as well as other web services for members will be covered during this presentation.
